Happy 7th Birthday Emily!

Today you are 7 years old Emy Bug! You were born into our family on a Monday at 12:16 p.m. in Utah. You weighed in at 8 lbs. 13 oz. and measured 19 1/2 In. long. You were born with bright blue eyes and black hair.
Your Grandma Melendez was there to help Mommy and our family. Your Grandpas Clifford were serving as Mission Presidents in Wisconsin and they were so happy to hear that you had arrived healthy. Your Grandpa Melendez was not allowed to travel due to his heart so he wrote you a sweet poem.

"I heard the cry of an angel
and Emily was her name.
From the presence of Heavenly Father she came.
To bless this earth in His holy name.
Oh with Joy my heart does swell.
For the abode where she will dwell will teach her well."

You were blessed on Nov. 4th, 2001 by your father. He blessed you that, "you will always remember who you are and that all of your actions will be well reflected on your heritage that has preceded you."
Your sister Kate was 3 years old when you were born and she was not quite sure what to think of you but she came to love you right away.
You walked at only 8 months and have always been very active and coordinated. In fact, your nickname as a baby was "The Little Tornado" because you were walking everywhere and getting into everything.
You now play soccer, take gymnastics and Hip Hop dance. You began piano lessons this year and you love to learn. You are very bright and are focused on detail.
You love to make your little brother Andrew laugh. You chase him around and you taught him how to make silly faces. With big sister Kate you love to play with your Webkins stuffed animals, play computer games and on your D.S.
We moved to California when you were only 4 years old and you began Kindergarten. Now you are a big 2nd grader. You love school and the work seems to come easily to you.
Your favorite color is pink. Your favorite food is a Hot Dog. You give big hugs and kisses and always tell us "I love you."
We can't imagine life without our little entertainer. You make us laugh with the things you do. For example; Last week you had a loose tooth that was so ready to come out that you could close your mouth and the tooth would still be visible outside of your lips. You looked like a Billy Bob. You would show everyone and make them scream and laugh. You refused to let anyone pull it out. We were afraid it would come out in your sleep and and you would choke on it. Well, sure enough your tooth was gone the next morning and we found it inside your bed. You leave notes for the Tooth Fairy each time telling her much she owes you.
You have been counting down the days till your birthday and now it is finally here. We are going to surprise you with breakfast in bed and then we will look through your baby book together and talk about the day that you were born.
You bring so much joy and happiness to our family. We love you Emily and we are proud of you!
