Kate the Great!

We are so proud of our Kate. She is just a little learning sponge. She made Honor Roll and was chosen Student of the Month for January. I am so impressed with how well she has been doing in all aspects of her life. She does a great job balancing school, sports, church etc.
Kate was presented with the Student of the Month award at the school's Flag Salute Ceremony and then her teacher invited us into her classroom so she could honor her in front of her classmates.

(Crazy Hair Spirit Day)
Kate had a huge California Mission Project due yesterday. I have to admit I love when the kids are assigned a project, must be the teacher in me. We took the family to Mission San Juan Capistrano so Kate could do some research. We all had fun taking the audio tour. No, they are not talking on cell phones. The next weekend we took the family to Old Town San Diego for the commemoration of the Mormon Battalion. We heard there would be a brick making station. That adds up to 10 enrichment points for Kate's Mission Project. I just love learning and I hope to instill that in my kids. Who else would be saying "Wahoo" to school projects? Come to think of it I can actually name a few people. This model of the Mission was Kate's final enrichment activity. Yes, she actually made it herself. We helped her as little as possible. She also made a mobile, wrote a letter to the Mission with a donation and wrote a report which included photos that she took on the day of our visit.Way to go Kate. We love you and we are so very proud of you!

What a neat girl! Thank you so much for your call. I got the message and am so thankful for your thoughtfulness. Thanks for checking in. We are doing well. So much better now. I can finally say I feel somewhat normal again. Tough times! Thanks for your friendship.
