Happy 13th Anniversary

Chad and I are celebrating our 13th Wedding Anniversary. June 23, 1995 was the day we made it official after knowing each other for only 4 short months. We were set up on a blind date by a friend of Chad's who was interning at the school where I taught. (Well, to be completely honest Chad tells me that we had met before when I dated his roommate but I don't remember) She knew Chad from home and decided we would be a good match. She was right. I was living with my sisters near the BYU campus and we all went on a lot of fun dates together. I figured if he could handle my family's craziness then he was a keeper. It didn't take long for Chad to ask if we could have "The talk." Who is the girl in this relationship? Cliffords know what they want and they don't mess around. So shortly after the talk we were engaged. Chad asked me to marry him in my classroom where I taught Spanish at Timpview H.S. Yes, he proposed to me in front of my students. It was a complete surprise. My roommates were there to capture it all on film. The electronic billboard at the school announced that Senorita Melendez got engaged. I came back to school the next year as Senora Clifford. Not too authentic for a Spanish Teacher.
We were married in the Salt Lake City Temple and held our reception at the Lion House just down the street. It had rained every day before our wedding date but Chad promised me that we would have great weather. He kept his promise. It was an amazing day! On each anniversary we pull out the wedding album and take a stroll down memory lane.
We saw the Lion King together while dating, hence the song.
