Not far from Sea World is Belmont Park. It reminds me a bit of Balboa park where I used to hang out as a teenager. There is the beach, shops, restaurants and a small amusement park.
The kiddos were out
of school for Martin Luther King Day so we packed up the roller blades and bikes and headed south for some fun. We spent Saturday there and had so much fun we returned on Monday.
We explored a few shops, rode the roller coaster and stopped for ice cream and treats.
Chad and I used to love roller blading up the Provo Canyon to Bridle Veil Falls. We would pack the girls and our lunch in our double wide baby stroller and enjoy the trails. We are discovering new areas here 
in San Diego. I still feel like a tourist sometimes even after 2 1/2 years. There is so much to do. The weather has been beautiful for January. Chad and I have to remind ourselves that we actually live here and that we are not just on vacation.

I keep FORGETTING about Belmont Park! I've gotta go. Matt had to work on Monday so the bravest I got was taking my kids to a movie!
OK that's it, I'm jumping on a plane and coming to visit you RIGHT NOW!
oooohhhh..that's one place we haven't explored yet--except I don't know how we'd get 8 bikes, scooters or trikes there! So fun!

SOOO fun! I went there briefly with the YW at the END of our Girls Camp last summer--so needless to say I was EXHAUSTED and didn't pay too much attention to anything but keeping the girls outta trouble and away from strange boys! We'll have to take the kids down there. I grew up hanging out at Balboa too! I have so many fun memories there!
Well it looks like you guys had a blast! We don't have roller blades, but we have beach cruisers. We have to plan an outing like that with you guys. We can bike and you can roller blade. We are so there next time it is sunny on a Saturday.
