It's Boots, Chaps & Cowboy Hats

One little known fact about my my hubby Chad is that he is a Cowboy at heart. To look at him you would think he was more of a California Surf Dog. He is often seen in his jeep, surfboard on top. But, I have the pictures to prove that he is a Ten Gallon hat, big belt buckle, cowboy boot wearing man. He's just a good ole boy, never meaning no harm.
Chad grew up in Colorado and Idaho wh
ere his family owned horses and other live stock to be proudly shown by the kids at the local fairs. Yes, Chad is a card carrying member of the FFA. So when our friend Nikki suggested we go to the Rodeo guess who was first to hop on board. Yours truly! I knew Chad would love it. We used to attend the Rodeos in Utah. The Bull Riding is Chad's favorite event. Mine is the Mutten Busten, where small children wear helmets and ride sheep around till they fall off.
Rodeo folk are a fun bunch. A
totally different culture as far as I'm concerned. Most of the girls want to grow up to be Rodeo Royalty, big hair and all. The boys want to ride that bull. Have you seen the movie 8 seconds? Anyway, when our group arrived at the Rodeo in Poway we all wanted to sit down and have a bite to eat. Chad ate 2 huge hot dogs in 8 seconds flat. I could tell that he was anxious to get to our seats and enjoy the show. Needless to say he sort of left us in the dust trying to find our seats. I like to look at the different booths and soak in the atmosphere.
Chad now wants to attend the Bull Riders Only competition in Vegas
. He said to me, "Honey, you have been wanting to plan a little getaway." My idea of a getaway involves lounging on the beach or by the pool.
It's fun bei
ng married to a cowboy. I have learned to love country music, except for that twangy stuff, and I love wearing cowboy hats. Does that qualify me as a cowgirl? Chad wants to build a home with land, lots of land (don't fence me in). I'm sure someday we will have horses but for now we are enjoying the California beaches and all that San Diego has to offer.

Love it. You look great in the hat by the way!

Who would have thunk?! It must be a bi-product of being a Cougar fan.

What's not to love about a cowboy? Being a Texan and all, I tend to think they are H-O-T, but never got into the big hair thing. (well, not never -- I WAS in High School once!) Even better to be a CA cowboy . . . the beach and the rodeo -- GREAT combo!
